Vacuum drainage is another system where, usually in a central location, a vacuum station with 1 or 2 collection tanks is constructed.

Vacuum systems are not distributed by OEKERMANN, however, a combination of vacuum system + pneumatic wastewater pumping by OEKERMANN can be sensible; in some cases, this has already been successfully implemented.

From a vacuum station, suction lines extend, usually in a star-shaped pattern, to the properties to be drained. These receive a valve combination to be mounted in a shaft as an interface.

As soon as a certain amount of wastewater has accumulated from the property, the valve combination opens. The negative pressure in the suction line draws in the wastewater, and the resulting airflow transports the wastewater towards the vacuum station, from where it is then forwarded to the sewage treatment plant via gravity sewer, pump pressure line, or by means of pneumatic conveyance.

This technology can only be successfully employed in very specific, spatially determined cases. Depending on the local situation, it can also be used as a combination of vacuum drainage + pneumatic conveyance.
