Long Pressure Pipes

The length of pressure pipes in pneumatic wastewater conveyance systems by OEKERMANN can extend up to several kilometers.

Hydrogen sulfide formation due to excessively long retention times without air/oxygen access is reliably prevented.

Post-purging Process

Through the automatic post-purge system, the pressure pipe is regularly and intensively cleaned and largely emptied at adjustable intervals during times of low wastewater flow.

The flow velocity of the wastewater is significantly increased during the post-purge process. This creates turbulent flows in the pressure pipe. Any deposits that may have formed from previous conveying or resting phases are stirred up and carried away with the wastewater flow.

Simultaneously, during the post-purge process, an intensive cleaning of the transfer shaft takes place. Odor nuisances are completely eliminated there.

In wastewater conveyance, there is no need to maintain minimum flow velocities, as is the case with other systems, because the cleaning effect in the pressure pipes is mainly achieved through the subsequent post-purge process. This results in high economic efficiency.

Even with very long closed pressure pipelines, additional ventilation or even oxygen input is not required along the way.
