OEKERMANN has been building pneumatic wastewater pumping systems since 1977 and has installed more than 2000 systems during this time. Despite the resulting references and ongoing presence at trade fairs (e.g., IFAT in Munich, as well as continuing education events organized by professional associations), these products and their advantages are often not well-known or insufficiently recognized.
The following explanations aim to help increase awareness of the pneumatic wastewater pumping station developed by OEKERMANN and the resulting advantages.
The original idea, which remains fully valid today, was to bring wastewater to treatment plants that could not previously be disposed of.
This is particularly true for disposal areas in the rural areas. When relatively small amounts of wastewater need to be transported over long distances and conventional pumping methods are not possible.
For example, because:
- wastewater decomposes or decays over long pressure pipeline lengths
- heavy materials settle in the pressure pipeline due to pumping pauses (since wastewater flow is not continuous)
- the terrain is hilly, and the pressure pipeline has consecutive high and low points
