Promoting Health for Operating Personnel
Municipal wastewater contains a multitude of health-hazardous substances. These include viruses and bacteria or germs of various kinds. Additionally, various breakdown products from chemical processes or medical waste and residues found in wastewater can lead to health problems or even diseases. In particular, the breakdown products endanger the sewage treatment plant personnel, as these employees almost inevitably come into physical contact with raw sewage, at the latest during repair work. To achieve the greatest possible protection against health damage, OEKERMANN systems are designed so that even during repair work, no contamination of personnel with wastewater can occur.
- In OEKERMANN compressed air pumping stations, operating personnel do not come into contact with wastewater.
- All system components through which wastewater flows are free of maintenance-intensive or sensitive components.
- There are no switches, rods, mechanical or electrical assemblies that would be impaired in their function by wastewater.
- The wastewater is always pumped out completely and in a timely manner.
- The pressure pipes are always largely emptied in a timely manner.
In stark contrast to this are, for example, submersible motor pumps, where the floating substances in the pump shaft alone are not only disgusting but also highly hazardous to health.
