These include viruses and bacteria or germs of various kinds. Additionally, various breakdown products from chemical processes or medical waste and residues found in wastewater can lead to health problems or even diseases. In particular, the breakdown products endanger the sewage treatment plant personnel, as these employees almost inevitably come into physical contact with raw sewage, at the latest during repair work.
