An Internship with Parents? I didn’t find that so desirable, and neither did my oldest daughter. However, due to the Corona pandemic, she and most of her classmates couldn’t find a placement, despite numerous efforts, because which company wants to employ interns these days, even if only for a day, while employees are supposed to be sent to work from home, not least due to pressure from politics.<\/p>\n
I must say, though, that the rejections from mostly larger companies were very personal and extremely friendly in their wording and reasoning, and I would therefore like to express great praise to all HR departments and decision-makers for this! At the same time, the school urged them to keep trying, even with relatives.<\/p>\n
In the end, there were two of them with us, the girls; my daughter had brought a friend \u2013 and to my greatest surprise, this internship day had become a complete success.<\/p>\n
Despite our rather complex field of work, a task was quickly found where the girls could apply their school knowledge so far and contribute their first own thoughts on this topic.<\/p>\n
“You see!” my wife said afterwards, and if I understood the girls correctly, we can expect half the class next year…<\/p>\n
